# Reading a HoloMotion assessment report

Review date: 2026-10-05. This guide explains interpretation and procurement questions. It is not a new patient report, an API specification or a clinical outcome study.

## Before interpreting a number

Record the hardware model, software version, movement protocol, camera/input, capture distance, lighting, clothing, occlusions, subject instructions, operator and repeat number. Distinguish camera calibration, skeletal/subject calibration and data entry. Ask which apply to the selected mode.

## Gait analysis

Check whether the horizontal axis is elapsed time or normalized gait cycle (%), and whether left and right traces use the same event boundaries. For angle traces, confirm the joint, anatomical plane, reference pose and angle unit (degrees). For walking speed, record distance and timing method; for step/stride measures, record the unit and the event definition. Compare trials only when the protocol and accepted capture conditions match.

The downloadable product image on the assessment page is an existing report-interface illustration. It does not provide the underlying measurements, complete patient record or new validation data. A properly de-identified, approved full report is required before using it as a worked clinical case.

## Joint range of motion

Distinguish peak angle from excursion (maximum minus minimum), and active from passive range. Confirm left/right side, anatomical plane, angle sign and zero/reference definition with the deployment team. An angle difference across visits is not automatically improvement or treatment effect. Review recording quality, pain, effort, instructions and protocol consistency first.

## Quality and follow-up

1. Check full-body visibility and relevant joint visibility throughout the intended movement.
2. Record interrupted or excluded attempts; do not select a favorable trial without explaining the selection rule.
3. Have a qualified professional interpret the report with the subject's context.
4. Repeat under the same protocol and record any changed equipment, version or capture condition.
5. Investigate whether an observed change exceeds the measurement variability established for that task and population; do not invent a universal cutoff.

## Evidence to keep separate

- Internal joint-angle benchmark: RMSE up to 2.5° under controlled optical-reference comparison conditions; not a universal guarantee.
- Published athlete application study: 170 Malaysian university athletes, depth camera, approximately 2 m and skeleton calibration, 11 movements with best of three attempts. DOI: https://doi.org/10.3389/fspor.2026.1884958 . Not independent joint-angle accuracy or prospective injury-prediction validation.
- Test–retest reliability, agreement against an external reference, sensitivity to change and clinical benefit answer different questions.

## Demonstration request

Bring your target population, movement, room/camera constraints, desired reports and repeat schedule to https://holomotion.tech/en/book-demo . Ask for the exact model/version and approved de-identified example before confirming your procurement requirements.
